When submitting a shared parenting plan to a court, the Notice of Filing Shared Parenting Plan is a way to let the court know it exists in the case dockets, as illustrated in the fictional example given.  It is only one possible method of using the Notice of Filing approach.

This method of filing does not depend on whether both parties agree with the terms of the plan submitted, such as the Motion to Adopt Shared Parenting does; rather, a notice of filing as just that, a notice that something has been done.  Generally speaking, most people would use this to file a shared parenting plan for the court and other party to consider in a case; but there are other uses as well.
