A Father's Day Notice - 2011

For the fathers that are enjoying the company of their children today, whether as part of a shared parenting plan, the Standard Order of Visitation in Summit County, Ohio, or else, you are the fortunate ones to have this moment with them.  Fathers are the protectors, the innovators and keepers, and are able to be a shining example of greatness in the eyes of their children, where no one else will ever be able to do so.  Unfortunately, however, a great number of dads are sitting at home alone this Father's Day and have not been able to see their children for several weeks, months or even years.  These men would like to become a substantial force in their children's lives and can provide excellent care, as only a father can and should; but with the current conditions perpetuated by the Ohio Revised Code and mothers who are uneducated about the adverse affects of parental alienation, these dads are denied their rights.  In short, take advantage of the opportunity you are now given, for several others like you are without it this Father's Day.

All fathers of Summit County, as well as those throughout this state and country, should remember these dads and realize that changes are possible to the way domestic and juvenile courts do business.  After this holiday is over, be sure to remember those that were less fortunate or in the same position today as you.  Call your state House Representative and Senator to let them know that you support legislative efforts like the Unmarried Families of Ohio Act proposal, so that every father is treated fairly and can assist in raising their children under assumed shared parenting plans from the first moments of a child's life.  Every father should have his children on Father's Day, but it will take work to make this a reality.  You can truly make the difference!
